P239, essential parts

I love my P239 in 9mm and was very disappointed in it being discontinued. I still shoot it a lot and carry it in the summer. Parts kits seem hard to come by, so I was wondering about what individual parts I should be looking for going forward. I've shot maybe 7,500 rounds through it and hope to get at least 150,000 more! I was hoping I could get some recommendations on essential parts from the collective wisdom of you folks. I am also tossing around the idea of another P239 to spread out the rounds fired and parts if need be. Thanks in advance for your input.

Springs are probably the most important things. I doubt anything else will wear out. If shoot 150,000 rounds through your P239, you'll probably just want to buy another instead of replacing parts. Kinda like buying a new car vs. fixing everything.

If you check places like Midway for P228/229 parts they will list what other pistols use the same part as some of the springs are the same.
Midway does show the unique slide stop release and trigger bar springs as in stock and the P239 uses the same decocking spring as most other Sigs

Obviously the recoil spring is unique.
Because Sig uses braided recoil springs we can not cut those down.
Midway shows an different brand 20 Lb recoil spring, out of stock but can be back ordered

I am carrying my P239 but do not intend to shoot it enough to need springs at least not from use

I would focus on springs. TMK, the following are springs that are unique to the P239. The exception being the recoil spring which is used on some other models, but if you are shooting a lot you'll need to replace regularly (recommended every 5k rounds)

Recoil spring
Slide catch lever spring
Trigger bar spring
Mainspring
Hammer reset spring
Magazine spring

I might also get a new trigger bar. The disconnector tab wears down as the slide cycles. I have yet to find out how flat the disconnector can get before it fails to function. I suspect it's upwards of 50K-75K rounds or more. I've seen pics of some that were very flat and still functioned, though.

Thanks for the input. The 239 won't be exclusively shot, but it feels so good in my hand I don't want to be reluctant to shoot it. I want it to be in good working order. It's also my first pistol; I don't want it to be a safe queen. Thanks again; now I have a shopping list to consider. At 5,000 to 7,500 rounds, it's probably time to consider some replacements.

I would add...

If you haven't done a detailed disassembly, clean, inspect and lube on the frame at least, then it's time.

Keep it clean and lubed and you'll get a lot closer to your goal of 150k rounds with less wear and failures along the way.
