P229 standard ?

Hello, new here, i have had my sig P229 stainless? whole gun looks blued? for about 3 years, just wondering what model and how old, dak,elite,standard,etc, can't find any info online to help me. Need info for home owners insurance, thank you in advance and God bless.

It's not a DAK considering it has a decocker. If it were a DAK it would be Double action only. IF it were a SAS model it would probably say SAS on the slide which I can't see in the pics. Has Hogue grips and is the "legacy slide" which they changed a couple years ago. Also if it was the Elite I think it would also be on the slide and you should be able to tell if it has the SRT if you know what to feel for. Some others might be able to tell you more based on serial number.

I assume you don't have the box?

From your photo I'd say its a "standard" DA/SA 229 from about 2009 or so. Looks very similar to my 2009 SAS 229 but the edges aren't as rounded. I assume it doesn't have the Sig Custom Shop logo on the right side of the slide as seen here:



Either way, shoot it and enjoy.

My guess would be 2005 or earlier. Not sure of the exact date, but rails were pretty much standard starting around 2006 except for the SAS models.

hogue finger grooves, not factory. my old am113xxx/jan '09, had the std sig logo 229 grips, probably like yours.
