P220 carry value

Picked up a 220 carry model 3-4 years ago and never got around to firing it. Today was looking to order some mags and saw Sig has discontinued the carry version. Wonder if this should be the one gun I never shoot and hang onto as an investment. Have they become more rare and valuable or did they discontinue since nobody wanted them?

Yes sir everything as it came from the factory. When I got it home I took it apart cleaned and greased and put away. Sat in my safe ever since.

It is only worth you can sell it for. For me rare/obsolete guns are not desirable. Just means you can't shoot for fear of hurting value and if you do shoot 'em you can't get parts.

Too many variables, as bearone2 stated Sig does this with models quite often. Depending on "which" P220 "Carry" you have will be a consideration. Even though that variation my have been discontinued, the majority of parts are used on other variations, and Sig will continue to honor their warranty on it.

Value, as already mentioned, will be very dependent on how bad someone wants one.

I don't look at any gun that I buy as an "investment". You never know what will be valuable and what won't. A gun that was still being made a year ago and discontinued since (example P239) may be hot right now, but it won't stay that way because countless thousands have been built over the years.

For me, part of the fun of being a gun enthusiast is buying and selling(mostly trading) to acquire "new" guns. Dislikes, attitudes, likes are in flux; Not being in the business, I don't expect to make money. Enjoy the gun; whether it be shooting, dry fire, or just taking it out to look at. When this doesn't do it, dump it and get another. BTW, you could call Sig and and pick a reps brain for any answers you want. Enjoy
