P226 Combat: Did I pass on too good a deal?

As a hobby I have a table at the local gun show.
The gun/ammo business is so far down it is hard to gauge what the bottom is on prices.

A guy came by and offered my a P226 Combat (I am a P228/9 gun, sold off my P226s)
Excellent condition, box/papers 5 Sig mags, holster (Combat FDE frame and grips with 1913 rail, Nitron slide)
Was asking 700 but was leaving and offered it to me for $600.00. I passed and suggested a friend buy it because it was a great deal and he did.

I am not a flipper and my only purpose would be for reselling and I have a policy of buy for me, sell if I change my mind but not buy to resell as an intention.
But, I admit I feel I should have bought this for myself cause it was sweet

How big did I miss on this?

I'd have bought it, especially if it was one of the older ones with anodized frame & short extractor. ;)

Back when I was buying up Mk25s like crazy, I saw a few Combats in about the same price point as was offered pop up. I haven't seen those kind of deals in a few years though.

Anodized frame.
You get one guess who bought the Combat, just one
:p

I would have snagged it. Basically 60% of the cost of the pistol not including the extra mags. The coated internals are a real thing and according to a few contacts I have at Sig Sauer, stand up better than the engineers expected.

They still have anodized frames. Just went to long extractor

The last few new ones I've seen had cerakote tan frames.

Thatís interesting. Mine is a 2019 manufacture and is anodized, there website shows it as looking like it was cerakote but they seem to photo shop tons of stuff on there website

But to answer the OPís question , I would have bought it if I didnít already have one.

Now why is it that I AM NEVER AROUND when fantastic opportunities like that arise???

You sure did... I thought I got mine for a good deal at $700.
