PSA: Check Ebay before you make buy any costly items

I was recently surprised by Osage listed on ebay. It showed a Significant discount from Sigs offering. In this case it was a slide with Romeo 1 (no barrel) which Sig had on email blast over a month back and quickly went OOS on, setting my belief it was more of a Sig exclusive. And typically Osage parts are only mildly discounted more higher on their own site so I dont check except for full exchange kits.

Well this same item came instock at Sig on 4/30 per an email notification, and I purchased it.

So today while I was looking for other things I dont really need but feel I cant live without, I was flummoxed when I saw the same item in Osage's ebay listing for the same item was nearly 20% less and was not showing taxable. So end result almost 30% less.

I almost feel like its a rookie mistake, but I dont recall seeing major Sig parts (new items) on ebay in volume or being much of a savings. Not sure if I have just been out to lunch or if this is the maturity of the platform allowing the supply chain to fill and provide the deals.

I avoid buying anything from the manufacturer, since they always charge MSRP.

FYI: Sig Academy will sell Sig parts, accessories, and some firearms routinely at 20% off the MSRP, just ask.

I purchased something from them on Gunbroker.
I did a search after the fact of the model number.
Turns out they were offering the same item for $20 cheaper & free shipping on any Sig accessory over $100 on their website.
I sent the an e-mail politely asking if they could make an adjustment as a goodwill gesture.
We shall see.

Generally manufacturers sell at MSRP so as not to compete with their dealers.

Yup. Always buy elsewhere, unless the item is available only at the source.

This more or less. In the past youíve always been able to see that the prices on parts, grips etc were 20% off what youíd see on the Sig Store website

Now it seems some things are and some arenít. The Pro Shop has downsized quite a bit on what they carry.

Iím lucky enough to be able to stop in there any day I choose and see whatís on the shelf. Thatís how I was able to stumble across a P226 RX slide for 319

You can buy direct from Osage under their Sig MIL/LEO page. I bought my P365 from them. https://www.thesigapp.com/

Or you have a Sig store credit to use up.
