Thumbs up German 229R, whats it worth?

Sorry i do not have a pic at the time, but is a "true" german 229R with the 3x serial numbers more valuable than a standard 229 R?

this pistol im inquiring about is nearly flawless and comes with 5 mags, new hogue grips and siglite night sights all with original paperwork and box

I have seen the sig certified pre owned 229's going for $600-675ish range at different places online

Would that be a fair price on this one as well or is it more valuable? Im considering trading my AR for it and some boot

also its a .40s&w fwiw

honestly, IMHO a gun is not something to "collect" and store in a safe never to be used. the fact that somone modified it with hogue grips ruins any value if r a"collector" unless you also have the original grips. and there are far better pistols to putrchase for a "collectible" the nightmare editions are limited runs of 1000.

and if you buy it you cannot enjoy it other than taking it out of the safe and admiring/cleaning it.

Your question is impossible to answer on an Internet forum. We haven't seen the gun and its worth is up to you. We have no idea.

Great reply Quad.

$650-$700 would be a fair price for your 229. If unfired, it would be slightly more.
