Question P229 Elite Jammed & Locked 40SW

Only 5 days old, five rounds shot and the slide is jammed tight and locked 1/4" back. The strong mini man may not work by forcing it to slide back. The empty cartridge is visible by 1/4" at the ejector. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to dislodge the spent round? Instead of sending it back to SIG. This is a new issue and I have to buy another one to use as a spare. Which, I don't want to waste another grand on.
Thanks to anyone who has a solution to this problem or has had an experience like this one.

If the round has been fired I would try beating it open with a wooden dowel. It probably just needs to break the "seal".

I have seen this before and it is generally from an oversized case. Maybe a buldged case? Are you shooting reloads?

One good image posted here would be worth a thousand words. I can't offer a suggestion until I've seen how it is jammed.

Thanks for the reply. I will try knocking it loose with a woode trowl. And I'll get back.
As for a picture...nothing really to see except as described. "The empty casing is visible by 1/4" There are no fractures to the slide ejector like the Swiss Seals 220 model experienced. And it does look like the shell had oversized. And I am shooting Blazer Brass, very clean, 180gr, for target only.
I have experiences "break-in" trivial problems with most handguns I've had, including the infamous Glock 23 Gen4. And always found that shooting 200 to 400 rounds worked out the kinks. The P229 is a beautiful piece and the few shots that were able to get off was pure Grand Prix Performance. Smooth, not a huge snappy kick I really like this piece and can't wait for the break-in to be done.

The Photo's are a good idea. The slide is stuck in the "Fire/Hot" position. Is there a way to release the slide to the Open position? On my Glock by removing the magazine I can stick a pen through the opening and release the slide back again. I don't see where exactly I can do that proceedure on the P229. Any suggestions will be helpful. Thank you.

Unfortunately, It's locked in the "Fire/Hot" position. I can't pull the slide back and the trigger is not quite clicked in place to pull.

Not a 9mm, It's a .40 S&W. Learned that in 1967. Don't mix calibers. Thanks.

Great example. Everyone seems to be buying guns these days faster than the manufacturers can make them. And unfortunately, the mistake of mixing calibers in the wrong guns is a huge problem now.

I pulled my slide back to the position in your picture and then pulled it back further to feel if anything would prevent it from going back further. I feel no pressure until the slide travels rearward and encounters the hammer.

If you hammer is down (cocked) and the slide is open like your picture, the only thing holding it there is the case.
