My new find, unfired all German carbon slide P226

I'm a little excited so I wanted to share with the group. I was able to find a guy who was selling a KH date code 9mm P226 with folded carbon steel slide, Tripple serial numbers, and German proof marks. The best part is that he owned several (he's a Sig collector with a bunch of P210's as well) and this was one of the ones he bought and just put in the safe without ever firing it. It still has the original grease on it in the original box with the test fire target. Unfortunately most of my friends and family aren't gun people so when I told them they're nice and smile but you can tell their just thinking "he found a used gun in good shape what's the big deal.". I think it's pretty cool.

Thanks much. Crazy thing was I paid about $175 less then what the shop wants for a new Exeter P226. I've never owned a safe queen as I shoot what I own but now I suddenly don't want to shoot it. Maybe I'll just stick to my 2004 P226R for all my shooting and leave this one as is for a while.

Safe Queen, what's that? I take pleasure in shooting everything I own. On my death bed you won't hear me say I'm sure glad I didn't shoot that dusty new P226 in the safe. I'm sure my ex-wife and her boyfriend will enjoy it.

Non-gunners never appreciate a really good find.
My bro and I, on the other hand, reach recently scored a good revolver each at very good prices ... around the time and totally by coincidence.
So when we finally got to the range together, it was, "Nice find." "Yeah, you too."

Congrats!!! Great find i just got a CPO P226 9MM 1990 pistol with three matching ser# as well. My P226 looks new/unused. I know i will never wear out the barrel in my life time. My kid will get this SIG someday. I wonder if i should get a replacement barrel and put the W. German barrel away for my kid? What do you guys think waste of money or not to get a replacement barrel for my range work?
