My New Sig

I recently picked up a P238 and I love this little thing! There are basically three reasons I bought this one. 1) I had no .380s, 2) I had no Sigs, and 3) I like the fact that this pistol is like a baby 1911.

I thought small carry pistols were supposed to be no fun to shoot. Oh Contrare! This thing is a blast! I only have about 100 rounds down the pipe so far, but absolutely NO problems (other than taking two spent casings to my bald head).

I'm a woodworker/furniture builder/cabinet maker and I've made lots of grips for 1911s. So I thought I'd take a small piece of Redwood Burl that I had laying around and make a set for this little guy.

As you can see, I also paid the extra bucks to pick up the extended mag. Man...$40 for that dang thing!!

Very nice P238. I want to get one eventually. The grips came out awesome. Very nice wood grain. Congrats.

These things are growing on me.

They look all the world like a Star A-series pistol from the 1920's.

I'd love to see SIG make a full-size version. I know...close enough to the 1911, but there is something about them that is different and I like it.

Neat gun. Thanks for posting.

Downtownv....I can definitely make a set of grips for a P938. Since I don't currrently own one, however, I'd need your OEM grips to use as templates. I think I'm gonna buy a P938, but probably not soon (unless I'm interested in a divorce!)

wow those look good! you think you could duplicate the sig logos like on the 938 and 229?

I'd love 938 grips with sig sauer on one side and 938 on the other.

Vetteguy....I have a buddy who does laser engraving and might be able to accomplish that task. I know enough about his machine that in order to get a professional look he needs a flat (not curved) surface. If I made the grips such that I create a flat spot large enough to place the lettering, I'm pretty sure we could do it. The only other thing is that I'd need a set of OEM grips to use as templates. I've had guys send me their stock grips many times. I usually just send them back with the new grips, and sometimes they just tell me to keep them.

Before I do any such business though, I'd want to make sure the admin of this site allows such transactions..
