Apex trigger for shield or sell for p365?

I've had my shield for awhile but I can't stand the trigger,
its heavy, long, and gritty, my sigs have spoiled me
should I sell it for something like a 365 XL or get an*
Apex trigger? $150 feels kind of steep for what im getting
is the Apex really worth it?

I've already done a ton of research and can't find any compelling answers
thank you for your input

The Shield is a great value for someone who wants to buy an inexpensive but good small pistol. But even an Apex trigger kit won't make up for the lower round count and poorer ergonomics.

I have a Shield that I bought 5 years ago. I hated the hinged trigger so went with the full Apex trigger kit. World of difference!!! Fast forward to last month and I was able to shoot my buddy’s P365. If I was do to it today, I would go with the P365. The P365 is perfect out of the box with more capacity.

I agree with the above posters regarding capacity, etc. But if you want to improve the S&W Shield contact the folks at https://ateiguns.com/ They do a proprietary trigger job on the Shield(or any M&P,IIRC) that is a night and day difference. I am lucky that they are local to me and I was able to drop off/pick up and save shipping charges.

I had a 9mm Shield, but hated the trigger. I later acquired another and went with just the Apex sear. I felt that made a big difference. I ran Magguts to extend it's capacity. I slightly undercut it's trigger guard to improve it's ergonomics. I was well pleased with it.

Then I came into a P365. I like it's ergonomics much more than the Shield's. That, not capacity, pretty much relegated my Shield to the safe until it was gifted to a buddy from my Marine Corps days. Now, we both have very capable, small pistols

Regards,
Greg

My primary EDC has been a Shield 9 and I got it a couple years after they came out. I installed an Apex trigger in it shortly after I got it and it was a huge improvement and it has been 100% reliable. It is a pretty high price upgrade, but well worth it! I did get a P365 right when they came out. I gave the P365 a try for about 9 months. I ended up going back to the Shield. I am more accurate with the Shield, I did not trust the P365 with all the issues going on at that time and ergos on the Shield work better for me. Plus I am invested in the Shield with mags and holsters. The capacity of the P365 is awesome for sure. However, when I was carrying the P365, I would carry it with a 12 round mag and no spare. With the Shield 9 I carry it usually with the 7 round mag and an 8 round in my pocket. So, I have 16 rounds woth the Shield.

Have you fired a P365 yet? I would give it a try first. In the end pick what owrks best for you.

Main reason why I did not make the move to the P365. I have spent too much on mags, night sights, holsters, and mag holsters.

I have shot the 365 once but didn't care for the ergos, I'm willing to give it another try. im pretty heavily invested in the shield as well which makes it difficult

I have a shield and the Apex trigger is a big upgrade. I really feel like it is worth it. My shield shoots great, and I'm totally confident in it. I have also upgraded the sights.

I finally shot a 365 at the range and I do prefer the ergonomics on the 365, it fits my hand great. I shot it excellent as well.

If I didn't already own the shield I would buy a 365. The upgrades I put in my shield come stock on the 365.

No, it is not that big of an upgrade. Keep it, and buy a P365. Now is not the time to be parting with any guns. It's time to be buying them. Bad times for pro-gun people are upon us.

Now, more than ever, if you do anything buy every gun and round of ammo you can.

If you think the apex kit is expensive wait until you have to send the 365 out to get that trigger fixed.
In my opinion the 365 trigger is horrible but paying the Sig armorer $200.00 plus shipping both ways is half the cost of the gun.
I paid ATEi to fix all the triggers in my M&P's and Shield's at $75.00 each (no shipping because they ate local to me).
They don't work on Sig's so that leaves the $280.00 ootuin mentioned above.
Needless to say the 365 is now a safe queen.

I have a slight bias, because I like th4ke Shield better. Iike the Springfield Hellcat better than both of them. However, those three, are, in my opinion, the finest and absolute best micro-compact handguns you can get.

Best option. Keep the Shield, and buy a P365XL, and a Hellcat.

I’ve had both... still own the Shield. For me, the Shield proved to be a much better gun for many reasons. Then... I realized I could carry a larger gun with a higher magazine capacity (higher than the p365) just as easy. So the poor Shield takes up a space in the safe. But I still own it.

I also thought the shield trigger and sights were terrible and installed the full $160 apex trigger and duty kit. Also installed ameriglo night sights. A tlr6 laser light combo, and traction grips. The trigger made a big difference in accuracy and enjoyment. I know that I will never get my money back that I have spent on it in a trade in but it was a fun project to do. If I could turn back time, I would have purchased the m&p shield performance center model- live and learn. Have a plus 2 hyve mag extension for the eight round mag on order after reading good reviews about it. I do love my sigs though!
