Need a pic of a P229 w/E2 grips & legacy slide.

I know a couple of you may have a late model P229 with the E2 grips with a legacy slide on it. I am wanting to get a .40/.357 slide (with barrels) to go on my enhanced elite P229 9MM. I am not finding too many slides that match mine (full height cocking serrations) showing up on eBay, Gun Broker, or other online used sales locations.

Before I throw out a "want" in the classifieds, I was curious how the legacy slide looks on a E2 grip model. So, if there are some that would like to showoff a legacy slide with E2 grips I would love to see them before I try to find a slide like the style I have.

Thanks!

djcomm,

I don't have E2 grips, but, FWIW, a few months ago I purchased a new .40 X-Change Kit for my P229 SSE/9. The SSE shipped with a full-height rear serrations upper (they all do/did), and I really wanted my X-Change Kit to have this style, too.

Alas, Sig Inc only had the legacy slide available, and they were no longer taking special orders, so I purchased what they had. But every time I look at it, I really wish I could have purchased the new style slide. I'll probably eventually need therapy because of this.

FWIW.

P.S. My avatar shows my M11-A1 with its own .357 Sig X-Change Kit--in the new style. I really like this "sleeper" look. Unless someone looks closely, he/she probably thinks I have a [9mm] M11-A1 with me. And then I shoot some 125 gr. Underwood .357 Sig GD, and, WHOA, NELLIE, everyone looks up!

That is exactly the dilemma I am facing right now. I have a P229 Enhanced Elite in 9mm. I really wanted it in .357 sig. I have a Legion P226 in .357 and absolutely love the round. So, thoughts are buy a complete slide in .357 sig or buy another P229 in .357. The problem i am having is the only slides I am finding are legacy 1/2 serrations. It is difficult for me to know if I want a legacy slide on the platform I have now. That was the whole reason for the post. I wanted to see how they looked with the E2 grips.

If I buy a new P229, I think I will opt for the Legion or make sure I send it out for all of the upgrades. I just wasn't wanting to get 1k into another gun. I just stumbled on a new P227 SAS a few weeks ago that a dealer found in his warehouse never displayed or sold, NIB. I guess you know what happened there. So, I want a complete slide, but maybe the full serrations. I saw one go on eBay a month ago and it went for $460. I don't want to go there either. So, it may be a new gun.

Thanks!
