I know this has been brought up several times and it's existence questioned, but while thumbing through Gun Broker, came upon this... https://www.gunbroker.com/item/866326340
I wish I could "GO" for it, but taxes and insurance, home and vehicle, both due, and recently paid, so not a good time...
What is the significance of that 229, to make it worth more? With that -1 railed frame, I would spend $625 on another Classic Carry before I would Give $450 for that. What am I missing
Willard, why is this such a desirable gun? My first SIG, a P229 40 2007, brand new, didn't cost more, though close. Not saying it's bad, if you like 9's, but it doesn't seem like a smoking good deal either. One could buy a nice ex-LEO 40 for 4 to 5 bills. Converting to 9 would still be money ahead.
The subject has come up here several times, about a Legacy 9mm Slide, using the P229-1 barrel. Most "Legacy" style slides used the smaller P228/P229 barrel, and were built on the 13 round 9mm magazine.

Not sure if it's "desirable" to anyone, really. And definitely not $850 desirable. Maybe to Willard, it is. Yeah, it was discussed, but I don't recall anyone saying ooh or aah over it. And, fact is, 229-1 barrel in a Legacy slide is nothing new. Not common but nothing new.
I am just completely gobsmacked! I have only ever disagreed with Willard once before (and I was wrong about that!). Willard, go to your room, you're in time out!
Well... I guess it's time for me to go to my room... I thought it was a fairly unique setup, maybe I was wrong... which happens on occasion, due to referencing Legacy 9mm slides always gets you the smaller version.
Due to the "resurgence" of the Classic Carry models, all based on the smaller Legacy 9mm slide, I "assumed" that "was" the 9mm version.
Since this isn't so unique, what other models beside the Elite used the larger sized Legacy Slide? Are the outer dimensions closer to the .357/.40 model except for breech cut, and bore diameter?

I am pretty sure the answer is no. I believe the P229-1 slides are dimensionally different from the .40/.357 P229 slides.
