Looking at buying a used P220 ST. What is it worth?

Looking at purchasing a Sig P220 ST, with five magazines, and original box. It is German made. From the description, and pictures, it looks to be in great shape. What should I offer? Would $800 be too much to pay? Is there anything I should know about it?

I paid $650 for mine a few years ago, and I'm in CA. You can probably do better by a few hundred.

The ST in your picture is a little different. Most have the stainless steel shiny finish. I believe the one in the picture is a more limited production, and if I recall correct with the blued/black finish. I seem to recall it was provided to such LE agencies as game wardens, park service or similar. I am not certain about this but only recall it from an aged mind.

Now if it was sold in more limited numbers then does it add a premium or is it less desirable and reduces value? I do not know.

That one appears to be Nitron finished, I picked up this one about a year ago... off of GB for $549 last October... this was "after" I removed the OEM Hogue rubber slabs that were crumbling off of it... and through on a set of OEM synthetics. Is your pistol actually nitron finished, or is it just the lighting?

When getting up over $700, they to me would need to be in awfully good condition.

Here it is after cleaning up, and even building and fitting a Match style slide too... it came from DKMAGS, in New Brighton, MN, they had several they were selling at the time.

Here's one just ending on GB, that's Nitron finished... with an opening bid of $1200... and no one bit! https://www.gunbroker.com/item/864150940

Here's another listed as like new, for a little more... https://www.gunbroker.com/item/860608589 than the "Nitron" version.

Many figure that stainless models deserve to get a premium as is gotten by SSEs.

I guess the laugh will be on Willard and I if it is the lighting. It sure looks a dark color finish vs. a typical stainless steel color. ???

OK, Here is the thread from this Forum I must of remembered. Our own Forum Member ID'ed the dark finish P220 ST, and who it was produced for as a customer.

Poor lighting and blurry pics make it look grayish. But, it's natural stainless to me. Btw, it's not "German made". Only the frame is German made. Everything else is NH. Gun was assembled in NH.

I figured, since it says Exeter, NH. On it. It does not have night sights on it. I also think the frame is alloy, and not steel.

I am going to need to put a set of new sights on it, if I decide to purchase it. He did say he would come down to $700.
