P229 Grip Recommendation

There's an Ebay seller that makes P229 plastic grips for $35 OBO, any color.
Has any one tried the $35 grips?

I'll be waiting a while on OEM plastic grips to ship.

I figured there would be more grip options for the P229.

I'm open to any suggestions. Right now I have E2. I like them but the regular grips are a better fit for me.

Thank you

I would suggest saving your money... and not buying those.

Hogue rubber grips while noticeably larger than the E2s of even OEM 2 piece grips, would be a better choice, I believe.

If you are looking to pay less than retail, for some G-10s, check out eBay often... here's a pair about $18 off normal and free shipping... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hogue-28179...kAAOSwzqdcpNle

I've bought a few sets off of them recently, all new, and all in the same price range...

Thank you. I'll go your recommended route.

There's a set of white aluminum for less than retail,too... just not sure if that color is worth the savings. I usually don't care about firearm aesthetics but white may be a little wild.

Aluminum wouldn't get too cold down Louisiana way, but may get uncomfortable during the dog days of summer!

The G-10s give you a great traction, and long wear. A little "Baby Oil" removes any drying out too. Just read the little, Care and Use flyer, I'm sure you will be happy.

Thank you. I ordered the grips you linked and some screws.

Hogue G10 grips are very good. I am partial to the Piranha texture. I have G10 grips on several pistols.

I prefer the Hogue rubber grips, too. Best fit grip, for my hand, with P220 were Pachmyer signature grips. I wish they still made them, and for the P229.

My favorite grip for DA/SA Sigs is the Hogue G-10 "Checkered" model. I just got these for my P228 and the same ones are offered for the P229.

Pulicord showed a P228 with the G-10 grips and what looks like a Mac-Gar +2 or +3 extender. I have a Sig P229 Classic Carry which uses the P228/229 mags and has the original Hogue textured Sig grips. I've got both 'yes the Mec-Gar extenders will fit' and 'no they won't fit' the Classic Carry. I d appreciate your input since it looks like they do fit. Thanks for the help.
