P226 ASE Shoots Low

Went shooting this morning. Bought the gun new and have only put about 100 rounds thru it. Cleaned before the first time and after the other range trip.

I usually shoot at about 30'. Put a 4" target up at 20' and missed it totally with the first mag. All low. Readjusted my site picture to shoot higher and I got better but still not effective. Moved back to 30' and I was right on.

Is it me or the sites/gun?

Thanks!!

If I have a problem with my gun I usually ask the range officer or someone on the line who seems to be putting up groups I wish I had to shoot my pistol... rule out the human error factor.

Most people are delighted to put rounds down range at someone else's expense.

I agree, I don't see a big difference between 20ft and 30ft, good idea to try a combat vs 6 oclock sight picture, sig has a numbering system on their sights, I can check my 226 in the morning for a comparison if interested, I had a 220 that had the wrong rear sight causing it to shoot low, I sent the slide back to sig and had the sight changed, but you should get someone else, perhaps a range officer, to try it and compare POIs

Learn something new each day!!! Never heard of any of the sight pictures in the last 2 posts. I have always shot my Sigs and other pistols using the Center Hold. I will try the Combat Hold on the next range trip to see if I can improve. The last time at the range, no one else was around to test fire my Sig. Maybe next time but with virus scare and social distancing, might not get a chance very soon!!!
