Would you reccomend the G19 or the PPQ?

Walther PPQ. Try one and you will see why. My Glock 19 is now a safe queen.

I had a gen 4 #27 but gave it to my son.I did not shoot well with it,and it was uncomfortable for my odd hands. Ham bones with short fingers and loads of arthritis.Field stripping was a chore even with the glock extended release. Was not a big fan of the trigger and it had the glock trigger job, what 5 lb pull or so.
Two things that I really liked was the finish on the steel. Wish Sig had the same. The other thing was if it was loaded, and you pulled the trigger it would go bang.BTW that gen 4 texture,Saying it was hard on the hands is an understatement.

There is not a thing wrong with the G19 but once I had the PPQ in hand I did not possess courage enough to allow it to stay at the LGS..So far it has been flawless and I suspect it will continue to be so. It's only two significant cautions I have is that it strikes me as potentially dangerous for a new or 'nervous' user to handle. The trigger break is crisp and oh so light, almost single-action light and could get one that lives too commonly about the trigger in serious trouble. Also the magazines are twice the cost of Glock mags, they are pricey.

The trigger pull on a PPQ is not that light - 5.5 lbs. It is just that many are not used to such a high quality trigger pull and short reset. You simply apply pressure to it and it then breaks.

I've wasn't able to pick up a Glock after the first time I held one. I seem to like everything except glocks. Yes they are proven and probably good for some but just not for me.

Sig 239 group on left. G19 on right. Rapid fire from 25 feet. Standing, two handed. I shoot the sig so much, I put the 19 uncharacteristicly high on the target.
guyfromohio, Just a little un-solicited advice. Concentrate on relaxing the little
finger of your strong hand and I'll bet the groups from your 239 equal the 19.

I've never cared for Glocks. It has nothing to do with my Sigs or Colts or Smiths or Brownings. I agree they are reliable, but they don't feel right to me.
I don't think everyone should buy a Sig, if you like it, buy it and be happy.
More than my $.02. Shawn

I have two Glocks... but I enjoy shooting my Sig's more than my Glocks. Sig's feel nicer in my hands.

Just sold the last of my Glocks. Great weapons but my 2022 is my EDC and 96 Elite is the house gun.

If my life and family was dependent on one handgun, it would be a Sig Sauer P series. Out of 26 handguns, my Sig P229 gets the honer of being the "first responder". Dependability, accuracy, and superior economics under stress. Picking a First response gun was a tough choice for me. Years of IPSC, IDPA and two trips to Gunsite with the 1911 has made the choice very difficult. What tipped the scale to the Sig was the extended beaver tail felt and aimed like my 1911 but the Sigs larger round count over the 1911 gives it the nod. I do not want to be carrying a extra magazines for routine bump in the night noise checks. I tend to look at guns more from a offense position rather than a defense of position.

Same with me. I just could not get a good feel for a glock.
