There both good, but the American made one piece stainless slide is stronger and can handle +P and +P+ with no problems and is less prone to rust than the Carbon welded breech plugged German pistols. The newer generation Nitron coatings on the American made pistols is the lastest generation of IONBOND finnish. It is a better finish than the older one on the German pistols. Don,t let anybody kid you the American Sigs are the best ever made period. I own both and don,t shoot anything but standard ammo in the German pistols. Heavy use with carry +p,+P+ defence ammo can cause the breech block to be driven back and spread the welded slide along with cracks. For you shooting all that police ammo stick with the American made SIg. Shoot the MK25 it won,t hurt it or the value. Unless you keep it in the box and never shoot it for 30years it may be worth a little more, but theres alot of them out there . So enjoy today its not a money maker or antique treasure.

Do people really think the mk25 is going to be that much of a collector piece that they are safe queening it? It is a great gun, I love mine but every gunshop has them so as far as limited avaliability I just don't see it. I never understood safe queens. Guns are made to shoot. Unless its a colt from the 1800s how much are new guns going to increase in value? I'm sure their have been guns that have increased a great deal but I just don't see this one as an investment piece.

I'm not one to complain about the US made SiGs but to say they are better is one point of view I guess...properly maintained W German/German Made SiGs have very few issues...the reason I'd say for US made SiGs is that they strayed from the German engineered pistols...some things worked, some didn't and some things added weight to fix problems that really didn't exist...I won't argue the stainless slides are stronger than a stamped and folded steel slide with pinned breach block but they did just fine and well beyond their original desig parameters...

I agree and own both new and old Sigs. The new one is stronger, but doe's it mean anything? I use standard ammo for practice. But L.E. may use nothing but service ammo in the +P or +P+ even for practice. A few magazines for function test is fine . I for one won't be shooting 5000 rds of +P+ out of anything. Look what happened to the Hi-power in service for 50 years . A Lot got shot loose and cracked from +P+ Submachinegun ammo to train with. Doe's that make Hi-powers bad?? The average Joe is not going to do that or afford to do that. My favorite Sig is a KH 1997 P228. And yes I shoot it with factory spec ammo. Not hot rod overloads.

Glad SIG Germany fixed their own defective design. Of course Exter did not fix the defective design as they did not exist at that time.

I love them all regardless.

they thought they had something innovative, now exeter tell folks, in many cases, what's happening is normal or an ammo issue, something other than mfg issue.

different priorities & why i'll stay away from all, all exeter products.
