Can I Please Buy My 938 Yet?

Hi Guys (Gals)! First day on Sig Talk.

So listen, I'm dying to buy the 938 to replace my PM9 for carry (just love my wife's little Rainbow Titanium 238) but have been holding my breath waiting for some kind of "Gen-2" fix for the well-known extractor issue. From trolling this Forum, it seems as though everyone who sends their 938 back to Sig for an extractor and polish comes away very happy...thus it seems Sig indeed has a fix.

Is there any merit to the "Post-Serial #8800 has an upgraded extractor" theory?

I guess I can wait (and lean on my beloved 239 for a while longer, with a Glock23/PM9/BersaThunder backup plan) but "OH"... a properly working 938 would be Nirvana as a carry piece.

Please advise when able, oh wise Forumites.

As the owner of a #13xxx serial, mine had the extractor issue.

I hope you have better luck getting yours than I am getting mine. I have a P938 Rosewood on backorder for over a month. I see here in the forum that guys are picking them up at will.Very discouraging. My dealer's distributor told him Sig hasn't even STARTED shipping wood grip P938's yet. Like everyone else, I will wait, kinda patiently, with my Rosewood P238 until it's big brother shows up.

that's why I started the 938 tracking thread. i DO beleive that somewhere in the high 8Ks they started installing the upgraded extractors. this seems to be confirmed on another forum wehre a fellow corvette enthusiast got his and it's flawless his SN is north of 8K.
oh, and since coming back from her upgrade, number 92 is eating anything i throw at her

Mine was built 8/10/12 serial# 13488. Does NOT say Gen2 on the box.

But only 8 FTE in over 1000 rounds of 115gr FMJ and over 1/2 of those rounds were reloads.

I wish I knew how to determine if it had the upgraded extractor.

Why wait, just locate a 938 "Extreme" model online. It is the same as a Rosewood without the wood grips but with two mags included But if you want to wait on just the grips.............

Yes! The new P938's now say Gen 2 on the boxes which I assume denotes a change in production to reflect the upgraded extractors.
