picked up as in new or used? it depends how old it is as to whether or not already has several of the parts in the kit.

I put the E2 on my 226 and didn't have to replace the decock lever. Not a huge fan of the way it fit my hand either, your mileage may vary.

I bought the 226 brand new. I only ask because even the top gun ad states certain things may be needed.

"•Requires use of the new style mainspring 34280454. If you pistol has the long mainspring with a metal seat, you will need to also order the new mainspring. If you have the black plastic mainspring seat, you already have the correct mainspring.

•Also requires the new style trigger bar spring with the coil in the middle. If you have the plain curved trigger bar spring, you will need to replace it. Check out our Trigger Bar Spring Page to see photos for comparison."

I guess my question is do I need anything other then the Kit ?

You need to take off the grips and look at the mainspring and trigger bar spring and determine if you have the old-style ones or new-style ones. Bearone posted a pic of the two side by side a while back. I'll see if I can find it...

Here's the link to a thread that'll help. It has Bearone's pic.

As you can see in the pic, the top gun shows the old style springs, and the bottom gun has the new style springs. Once you have the new style springs, you can use the grip conversion kit.
