Yes you can. If you get leading in your bore, just use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to clean it out. Don't eat the sludge that comes out, because Lead Acetate isn't good for you.

I'm new to this forum and new to semi-auto pistols in general. I've been shooting for decades, but have only owned revolvers and rifles. I just picked up a Sig P220 and was going to try it out at a small local indoor range. I was told I can ONLY use lead ammo at this range - no FMJ . The only all lead .45 ACP's I can find around here (central WI) are re-manufactured by Ultramax. Talking to my son he suggested the all lead rounds may be problematic - so here I am looking for some advice. I checked and the manual says re-manufactured ammo will void the warranty. So........
Is it unsafe or unwise to use these rounds? I've been told they will foul the barrel more then the FMJ, but do they cause other problems - jamming or ??? Is the Sig warning just a "cover their *****" statement? And if you recommend I DON'T use there rounds - who makes & where can I find NEW all lead rounds?
I can use these up in my S&W .45 revolver, so they won't go to waste. Thanks,

Remanufactured ammo that is made to SAAMI standards is not a problem. I think the Sig warranty clause is mostly to cover hand-reloaded ammo, since there is no way for them to know how hot custom ammo is.
If you have an old-school German 220 with a stamped slide, try to avoid shooting much +P or +P+ ammo out of it. Otherwise lead bullets and SAAMI-compliant remanufactured ammo are fine.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured that was the case with the warranty.
I also came across a mention of this TNJ ammo from Cabela's - someone mentioned it another post, but there was no follow up review. It's Herters Aluminum case Total Nylon Jacket - new, not re-manufactured. Supposed to reduce copper and lead fouling.....anyone try this? Does it work as advertised? Accuracy issues? Problems feeding in the P220? I'm waiting to see if the range officer OK's it, but I ordered a couple boxes to try anyway.
