Which 226?

Both pistols are triple SN German guns with KA date codes.

Pistol 1: Very good condition, 2 factory 15-round mags plus one MecGar 19 round mag. Total with shipping/FFL $530.

Pistol 2: CPO with 2 factory 15 round mags. Total with shipping/FFL $575.

I think I know what I would do. Which way would you go?

And Happy Thanksgiving!

Tend to feel a bit safer with the CPO, but you do get an extra mag and save $40. Not sure if the extra $40 is worth it.

I'd go CPO myself.

Pistol #1 comes with non-original blue Sig case and no paperwork, if that influences your thinking.

since you mentioned the 1st one, does the cpo come in a red box?

if it doesn't it's not a cpo, just claimed to be one.

Hi Bear!

#2 is a true factory red box CPO.

i din't mean to offend because some folks have been sold a cpo/reconditioned/sig overhaul & many other descriptions without the red box.

fwiw:
the date on the box is the date it became a cpo, not the date it was mfg.

check the chin of the slide for the real date of mfg code.

Well, this decision got made for me.

There was a last-minute GB bidding frenzy on pistol #1, and it ended up selling for $200 over the listing price. Someone won it for $675, exclusive of shipping and FFL. Total cost will easily exceed $700 then.

I obviously steered clear of that insanity, and so I'll be purchasing the CPO this week. The price on that is fixed.

Thanks for everyone's input and advice!

Yes. The gun sold for $675 and shipping was $30. So that's $705 plus FFL, which is going to put the total at about $730 for most of us.
