New MK25

I bought a new MK25, first gun ever for me. I went today and shot 200 rounds. The first two magazines went good. Then, on the last shot of each magazine, the slide was not staying open. The gunsmith from the range told me that it was because it was not clean, but the shop never told me to clean it, they just add a drop of oil on the slide guides.
I came home and clean it so will see next time but anybody had experienced the same issue?

Clean is clean as long as no strings nut and bolts left in there. SIGS like to run wet. If it slides use grease,if it turns or rolls use oil. Mil Tec, Mil Com what ever. It's not rocket science.
BTW, the MK 25 is a combat pistol, no pretty boy,not a ultra accurate target pistol, just a damn good combat weapon to save your life. Enjoy it!

Are the mags made in USA ? if they are, they are crappy mags. You will need to get different mags.

I have the Tacops version of the 226 in 9mm. I've read a few things about the slide not locking back. Like the poster a few spots above me said. Check your thumb position first. Cleaning it is fine with just about whatever you have available. I use Q-tips and paper towels mostly once I get everything loosened up on it and I'm ready to wipe it down. The deal about the made in USA mags I was concerned with for a while but I have the Checkmate mags with mine and haven't had one issue with them. Doesn't mean I'm not looking to invest in a few Mec-Gar mags to go along with them though! Just keep shooting it and get a feel for the gun and see how it acts next time you take it out.

Thanks guys for the info.
I went to the range last night and i put through 150 rounds and no problems whatsoever.
I think was a combination of the gun dirty from the manufacturing and no cleaning prior the first use, and my thumb position
Here is another questions: to clean the inside the barrel, do you use the spiral metal brush or just the wipes or snake?
thanks

I use a winchester brass brush for the inside of the barrel. You can pick up a whole cleaning kit at walmart for pretty cheap.

Is the barrel chrome lined? If so the brass brush would be the best. If not you can find the nylon brushes to use. Either way I use the brush, patches, and a swab. (I like my barrels spotless)
