P229 rail wear pics, normal or lots of wear?

I just got a law enforcement trade p229 and I wanted to post some pics of the rail wear and get everyones opnion as if its normal or appears to have had a lot of rounds through it? Also , I am wondering if my recoil spring looks normal ? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I really cannot see the faces of the rails that slide. These would be visible looking down on the frame with the slide removed, or at the underside of the removed slide, not from the side.

Thanks for the info . Top down rails show very little dull black finish removed.

The last sticky above is a very good inspection guide. That will tell you everything you need to know. Also a new spring is in order.
Looks like it will do fine for you for a long time from what I can see.

Is it ok to shoot a few times with that spring? It looks uniform when its outside of the gun but that one coil does that weird thing when I put it in the gun.

I don't think a spring failure would be catasrophic or extremely dangerous, but I don't think I'd keep shooting it on that spring. Springs are fairly cheap, so I'd just order a new one and put it in. If the spring isn't functioning properly it's going to cause more stress and excess wear on other parts of the firearm.

And just from what I can see from your pics, the wear on the rails doesn't look too bad to me. Looks like normal wear and tear as far as I can tell, but if you've been firing it a lot with that bad spring you may want to get it inspected by an armorer. If the recoil spring is bad there could be other parts that are getting worn out as well. When SIG services a pistol they usually replace ALL of the springs at once.

Thanks for the info. It was a law enforcement trade in so it probably didn't get shot too much with the spring in this condition. I don't mind buying a spring , its the $10 shipping on an $8 spring that pisses me off.

LOL. Yeah, they always get you with the shipping. If you have a SIG authorized dealer near you, they may have them in stock, or may be able to get one for you without paying the shipping.
