Rynotek has good prices but their processing time sucks! Took me a solid week for them to process my 20 dollar order! But it arrived on Monday of the week I bought my Tacops so everything worked out fine. The rod fits snug just as the factory one did and has operated flawlessly for the 800+ rounds I've put through the pipe so far!

Probably the only thing that I will change on my P290 is put a SS guide Rod in it. I ordered from this place.

I'm not sure I understand the problem with polymer guide rods here and in other numerous forums. Due to the physics of the forces on the rod, and the greater strength to weight ratio of polymer over steal, it seems they make sense unless there are failure trends all over the place. I've seen some people claim they have heard about polymer failures, but I can't really tell how much of that comes out of the Internet rumor mill. I'm confident there has been failures, but expect them to be few compared to the total rounds fired. And don't most manufacturers do extensive safety testing of their designs? And are there instances of metal guide rod failures or premature wear?
To me it just seems like the opinions just come down to; it seems like metal should be better than plastic, therefore plastic is bad and I don't trust it.
Anyway, I'm glad we have alternatives, and for whatever reasons, if one prefers a metal guide rod, one can be found.
