Is Glock the only one with options?

So, I'm no gun expert, but when a friend said he wanted to buy his first gun, I really wanted to steer him toward Sigs. However, there are a few things he's looking for:

Accurate
Conceal-ability (Compact or sub-Compact)
Easy conversion to 22LR
Budget ($500 range)

I thought that surely there must be something Sig offers for that, maybe a P250 Compact with a 22LR conversion kit, but I haven't found it. Glock, however has Caliber conversions for almost every gun they have... I really don't like Glocks, but it looks like they're the only maker that has what he's looking for...

He'll get a used glock for $500 (maybe new on sale or at a good price), but you can't beat the SP2022 in 9 or 40...

A conversion kit for the Full-size, or the compact?
Or does it not matter? Could he get a compact or sub compact sig p250 and have any P250 conversion kit work with it?

I don't believe that SIG offers a .22 conversion kit for any of the three P250 frame sizes.

You can get caliber exchange kits in .45/.40/.357/9mm in each of the frame sizes; full (4.7" brl), compact (3.9" brl), and sub compact (3.2" brl). They recently started offering the sub compact in .380 also.

You buy one P250 (any size/any caliber) which gets you the serialized Fire Control Unit. That FCU will fit any of the exchange kits.

It's a very flexible system in terms of size and caliber; gives a new shooter a lot of options to try without having to buy a lot of guns. Remember, the FCU is the "gun" which you register.

I have about 3500 rounds through my 9mm compact and subcompact set ups without one failure to feed/fire/eject, not one!

It only comes with DAO trigger though. But it is very smooth; I wish that my 229 DA was as smooth. And for a new shooter, DAO is a good place to start learning in my opinion.

Why get a 250 when you can get a real honest to God Sig.
You can do conversion on the 226, 229,239. To be forthcoming about it, also H&K.
Any one can go down from 40 with either a Sig conversion slide, or cheaper, and as far as I am concerned, better Bar-sto makes conversion barrels available at Top gun to go 357sig or 9mm.
The magazines for all 3 will feed 40-357sig-9mm just fine. For 9mm I needed a 9mm recoil spring to be flawless. Bar-sto makes a very accurate barrel.
I know this is a Sig site, but I have never understood why you would want a 22 conversion that often does'nt work quite right, when for less money one can buy the best 22 out there. The Ruger Mk II or III. I have never heard of Ruger 22 problems. Tried and true.

I worked on a Mark III that wouldn't feed worth a damn, but mine runs like hell. Had to send the other one to Ruger.

I think a draw for the .22 conversions is practicing with your familiar frame and trigger in a cheaper caliber. My P226 conversion always worked fine right out of the box and I shoot it (almost) as well as my Browning Buckmark. Also, my conversion barrel is threaded so I am looking forward to using it with my first suppressor. So to answer on topic, SIG has plenty of conversions and options. Too many some say. My P226 alone shoots .22LR, 9mm, .357SIG, and .40 S&W with my conversion kits. All worked since opening the boxes, oiling the parts, and sliding them on.
