I'm Getting Frustrated at SIG

I had to special order a Sig P238 back in May because I'm left handed and needed the ambi-safety. To add that to the gun was an extra $120 (per SIG). So I said, what the hell if I'm gonna pay an extra $120 then for a few dollars more I'll get the Equinox version.

It is now mid-december and I still have no gun. I call SIG every few months to see if there is an update. The last one I got was at the begining of the month and I was told it won't be till maybe febuary.

This gun is suppose to be my back up gun. They told me they'd refund my money if I wanted, but since I've invested this much time I said I'd wait.

I really hope its worth it.

Anyone else have any problems?

it makes you wonder why dealing directly with sig requires so much time, i've never ordered from sig direct.

welcome from az.

if this helps...I ordered a SiG GSR Blackwater...was told 6-8 weeks...3 months later, still no pistol...was told, like you a little more time...finally I got frustrated enough to cancel my order...

...within a week of my canceling, they started showing up in stores...AND
Blackwater (the company) ceased to be...no store would honor my price (why should they) and SiG couldn't or wouldn't come up with a pistol (because I canceled my order)...

So...I really showed them...

What I trying to say is, I know you're frustrated but the people at SiG you talk with never really know when certain pistols are being made until they ARE being made...so they will string you along...don't have the regret that I had by letting my frustration get the best of me and missing out on a nice pistol at a great price...

Go to your local distributers and see if they can find one chances are it will be hard because your left handed but you never know.... I just ordered a p220 elite dark I thought I was going to have to go through sig but I went to like 4 gun shops and the last found one from their distributers it showed up at the shop three days later I'm going to pick it up the 18th can't wait... Don't get too frustrated sigs are worth the wait

I know it's worth the wait. Every Sig I've owned or carried performed flawlessly. It's just the waiting and being with a back up for the past year.

Off line orders often take over a year. Your details are a bit confusing, as you cannot order directly from Sig but, rather, must have an off line order processed by a distributor or dealer. I think maybe that's what you meant......

The reason I didn't go with the 938 is ...I don't know. I didn't even think about it till later. I should clarify...I went thur the local LE dealer for sig. They ordered for me, but I have called sig personally a number of times and have gotten the answers I did.

I just want my gun!

I know I'm not like most here, but coming from my background, a Sig is a Top Shelf firearm. As such, just about any wait is worth it.
I don't want to talk sacrilege, but could you get something cheap to tide you over until it comes in? Hell... For some reason people like Kel Tec. If you got one you could sell it for what you bought it for later. I carried one for a year and didn't lose a dime on it when I sold it to move up.

I agree!!!

But I don't think I would buy one temporarily until my SIG arrives...

That would really just be my excuse to my wife that I needed to buy another pistol. "I don't want to buy another gun, but I have no choice"...
