Got a new toy

Picked up my P229R-40-EQ today. Has a date of 11 may 2012 on one of the UPS stickers. Working some snap caps through it,having some pretty bad jam ups. It's been a while since I've owned an auto, where should I start the lube or should I use the M-pro-7 oil I have for my revolvers. It came with a tube of TW 25 gun grease.
It feels great with the wood laminate grips, hope to get to the range in a couple of days.

That's a sexy gun... Pics maybe?
I hope that your problems with the snap caps aren't present when you use live ammo. Are you racking the slide back hard, and not riding it forward?

Pix ? Don't have that ability right now, still behind the curve with a steam powered puter. Yes it's jamming up when I hit the slide release with the magazine locked in place.

Welcome and congrats on the new pistol.

I wouldn't worry about jams until you actually get it to the range and put some real rounds through it. Snapcaps don't simulate real rounds very well for weapon cycling purposes. Plastic/rubber is not the same thing as copper/brass jacketed bullets feeding and ejecting from the weapon.

As far as lube, any gun oil or CLP is sufficient. Everyone has their own opinion on what works best for them. What you use on your revolvers is probably just fine. The TW25 grease is pretty good and should be used sparingly to grease the rails on the frame and slide. Pretty much every thing else can be lubed with a few drops of oil or CLP applied here and there.
