Wink Ordered my first Sig

p226 tac ops. Placed order yesterday at local shop. Fella said might be in today. I can't wait. I have a hill/burm on my land that will be accepting a good portion of ammo soon.

Any recommendations of good, not too expensive ammo to put through her. Wanna break it in right so to speak.

Glass Onion,

I just sold my P226 tactical in order to buy a new Sig 1911. I love the new 1911, but I really miss that P226. That's one fine piece. Add a Crimson Trace laser and you are set to go.

Sig P226

That P226 will shoot anything. Sig Sauer does recommend not using +P+.

+1 to that! Mine eats anything I put through it and wants more! I haven't had the opportunity to run any +p+ yet!

I wanted the threaded barrel but he did not see the option on the sig site. So i went standard and figured i could get a Bar sto or (best) threaded barrel somewhere down the line.

Cool

I put a Bar-Sto barrel on my 229 I couldn't be any happier although when they tell you 14 or 16 weeks they mean it.

The threaded barrel model isn't listed on their site but it has a TB designation. I was surprised when I found mine for 150 bucks cheaper than a plain barrel. You can also order the threaded barrel from Sig but I'm not sure what the price difference if between Barsto snd Sig.

Just checked Barsto's prices. They're a little higher than Sig's but they give you the option for the standard 1/2X28 TPI thread pattern which I've found to be a lot easier to find things to screw onto it! The 13.5X1LH threads that come with the stock Sig barrels have been a pain for me to locate anything for that's decently priced!

Order thru Top gun. Bar-sto told me 12 weeks also. Top gun went from "out of stock wait list" to in stock and shipping to me in two days.
I was puttin 9s thru my 229-40 that weekend

Alright! Another noob with a Tac Ops. They are amazing. I've had mine for about 8 hours and I'm hooked.

After weeks of researching, I bought the Tac Ops.

Good to hear I can shoot anything. I got some 115 grain FMJ's, the least expensive in the shop.

Have an order in with my dealer but now, with the "gun rush" he can't find ANY P226s. He was gonna look through his distributors over the weekend. Guess I'll know next week. Most interested in the short reset trigger feature.
