Need a holster

New to the forums happy to be here. I just received my dream gun, Sig's 226 X6 Scandic. Amazing gun. My first challenge was magazines which I was able to get in 15 round (I live in NJ, 19 round is a no-no). But now I need a holster. I plan to try to use this gun shooting competition steel. I have a Sig 226 SS Elite but the holster is not even close for the X6.

Anyone have any recommendations on a holster for this firearm?

is it because of the sites not fitting in the holster or something else?

is the elite holster an open or closed holster?

for your competition, does the entire barrel need to be in the holster?

welcome from az.

My elite holster is a P226 Paddle Holster purchased directly from Sig. The firearm needs to be in a holster that supports the barrel but does not need to have the entire barrel in the holster. The problem with the paddle holsters is the gun barely fits into the holster leaving a significant portion of the gun protruding from the top of the holster. The X6 is quite large. Just about the only thing is shares with it's cousins in the 226 line is the magazines. Lucky for me because in NJ we have a 15 round limit.

I called Sig. As much as I love their firearms, and I own a few of them, their customer support is very unfriendly. Their support person said that he did not know of anyone making X6 holsters but he believed somebody made a holster for the X5. His exact words were "Google it, I am sure you will find something". Thank you very much.

I think I may have found a holster that will work. The PowerSpeed™ Universal Speed Holster by Hogue. I called their customer service which were much nicer than Sig and even though they didn't have any particular experience with the X6, after describing the firearm they believe it will work fine. But if it doesn't then they will take it back. I will probably just keep it for my other 226.

There are very few places that carry anything for the X5 or X6.

Shouldn't do anything, it's an open holster and the finish is the buffed and polished stainless. The holster won't touch the Scandinavian birch wood grips.
