I have two Sig P229s (40S&W and 9mm). I really like them. i was wondering what changes I should make to these two great pistols to make them even better. The night sights? The action job? The short trigger? Has anyone had these changes done to their Sig at the Sig Custom shop? What other changes would you recommend? Is it worth the money? What do you think? Thanks!

I put night sights or the 3-Dot sight along with the short trigger on all of my SIG's. I order the parts and do the work myself... I have the SIG sight tool that I ordered from them early 1990's. It is quite the handy little tool to have in the range bag.

I'd go with the Trijicon HD night sights: Trijicon

Perhaps some Hogue Custom Grips: Hogue

SRT from SIG's Custom Shop & more: SIG Custom Stuff

I can be very generous with other Folks $$$

I would consider adding a tactical light... I have one on my p229r, and it works great!

229's are out of the box fantastic pistols that need no real extras. If there are items you would like to add for your style/type/or intended use then that would be purely up to you.

That said I have night sights on all my Sigs, they don't make the pistol any better, I just like to have them on board.

Sig does great action work at a reasonable price. My only caution regards using modified or altered firearms for defense. Even factory mods can be used against you in court. Check out Massad Ayoob's views on altering firearms.
