Early reports are not good. The gun is very uncomfortable for even an average man's hands and the gun fails to feed fairly often. It's going to be a while until Sig puts enough of them on the street to develop a trend but, from the feedback so far, this may be another P290 disaster......

Got any links? The only negative feedback I can find is from Nutnfancy.

And I put little more zero confidence in what he has to say.

Why's that? I usually like to listen to his reviews, even if he does like his Glocks too much.

I find him overly positive. But I do enjoy his videos.

I look at his videos as entertainemnt and not really as informative. He is way too full of himself and comes across as a crass know it all. Also I have seen him give negative reviews to weapons that true experts have liked. He is not an expert IMHO just another voice on the noisy internet.

He slammed the P224 and he had only held it at SHOT 2012. That is pretty arrogant and silly to deniegrate a weapon just simply by holding it.

I believe the only real criticism he gave it was in regards to size and weight. It wasn't an in depth review by any means. If I hold a gun and don't like the way it feels in my hand, then it may not work for me and I move on. I believe that a valid assessment on size and weight can be made simply by holding a gun. It does not mean that it is a POS and in no way gives any representation on reliability etc.

I for one am excited about the P224. However, I will hold out until a DA/SA is offered. I can't wait until my LGS has one in so I can put my mitts on it.

As for Nutnfancy, that cat is too long-winded. When Hickok does review a new weapon, they are the most unbiased on youtube. He leans toward a striker-fired system such as Glock, but you can bet he will give you the honest opinion of someone who has much, much more experience than Nut.
I agree 100%. Hickok is IMHO the most objective. He has probably forgotten more than Nut will ever know. Jeff over at Gunblast is one I have ZERO faith in as he never found a gun he did not puff about when several guns he has positively reviewed have been panned by everybody else. He is the embodiment of "never say anything bad or my gravy train of toys will end philosophy."

I think he is well-rehearsed in his use for a weapon type. He gives his evaluation from his point-of-view, or philosophy of use. Sometimes, that removes a weapon from his "wanna buy" or "go-to" choices. He's a real stickler on size and weight, so that gets a lot of 1911s ****-canned in his reviews, but he still likes shooting them. This goes with a lot of other firearms he's reviewed. I like to hear his opinion, because he has a lot of the criteria that I care about. Combat accuracy, size, weight, pros, and cons.

Hickok45 is good to listen to. I respect most of his reviews, but I wish he would move around a bit more. I like to see the weapon in action, not in just one shooting position. He does some awesome shooting with his handguns!

I watch both NutNfancy and Hickok45 from time to time and enjoy them both. Hickok45 seems not to want to ruffle the feathers of any of his viewers and pretty much likes, or so he says, everything he tries from what I have seen. He also makes statements like "not much to hate about this pistol" LOL leaving the viewer to interpret that whatever way they want.

In the end choosing a firearm that works for an individual is a very personal decision and just because someone else has a negative comment about a a particular firearm often means squat to someone else.

I also held and dry fired a P224 and my intial reaction was very positive for the P224s intended purpose and target group of those that love their P series SIG pistols.

Actually everything that nutnfancy has given high ratings that I've purchased has run very well. This includes the SP2022, P250, Ka-Bar Dozier, Streamlight Stylus Pro, and a bunch of other stuff.

"True experts" LOL. Even "true experts" disagree and often have a monetary interest in their stated opinions and in some cases have been found to endorse a produce they never touched.
