Just picked up my new SP2022 9mm - Any accessories recommended?

Hey guys,

I am looking at the Uni-Max Micro Rail Mount Laser and probably a stainless guide rod.

Anyone have any other recommendations?

Jason

A spare magazine (or 2) and plenty of ammo. Both seem to be in short supply around here.

There are quite a few threads here and elsewhere regarding the guide rod. Some say Yes, others say No. If yes, they seem to prefer:

+ 1 on this.

If you have money to spend on your gun, your priority at the moment should be ammo and especially, especially mags. The recoil guide rods, holsters, lights and lasers will still be available after the next few months, but 15+ round magazines? I'm not so sure.

+1 on mags. I picked up two extra! One for 50 at a gun shop 30 miles away and one for 40 at my local Academy.

Welcome and great choice in handguns. I would go with mags and ammo also. Get as much ammo as you can afford because it is getting harder to find right now.

Mags and Ammo. After that Mags, Ammo and a GOOD holster. After 400-500 rds. of break-in, a trip to the gunsmith to get any operational adjustments/upgrades made (trigger, sights, springs etc.). Another 200 rds. Then look at the toys. At least that's the way I do it. Good Luck and enjoy it, just keep your rails and slide grooves greased and practice a lot.

Actually, aside from stocking up on mags which might be tough to find later, I would say skip them. Only having 1 mag to load at the range will slow you down and help you stretch out your ammo for the day. At least, that's my suggestion. Even 9mm is going for .45 ACP prices from 2 months ago!!! Crazy.

Just hoping it will all blow over soon.

Anyway, congratz on the gun. It's a great little pistol. We love ours. Bought 2 extra mags-geez...almost said "clips" since that's all I seem to be reading on the news and hearing about on the TV reports!!! Ugh. Bought 10 rounders since we're in California.

Otherwise, shoot it and enjoy it.

Thanks to everyone for the great recommendations. I think I have ammo covered. My two brother-in-laws are both SEALS. As for extra mags, I am having a harder time finding those too. I think I will only take one mag to the range though. Good call on that XDJYo.

I'd pick up mags for sure--they're out of stock almost everywhere. I ordered 2 from CDNN online, but they're out of stock now. Here's a link for 17 rd 9mm in stock. Mecgar Mag 9MM 17Rd Anti-Friction Coating Sig Pro 2009/2022 MGSP917AFC

Also if you're looking for a good CC holster I got mine from here for $45 and it's built like the $150 ones...small operation, but good quality and price. Ozarks Holster Company | Quality Holsters Made in USA

Then I'd suggest a mag loader. I have 3, 10rnd mags. It's quite a bit of "labor" loading them. I pay per hour at my local indoor range so I don't feel like burning ticks fumbling reloading them. I also don't need the blisters. I have a Maglula.

A cheap range bag works well too. I bought a Winchester brand at Walmart for $20.

Viridian fit guide SAYS the x5l won't fit a 2022, but if you look at my profile pic, you'll it fits quite nicely, and I was key holing at the range with it today.

ammo

"An empty gun is an expensive hammer"

I went to two usually well stocked busy gun stores and both were out of 9mm FMJ, no range rounds, only had hollow point - that is sad.
