Tactical vs. defense vs. competition

Help me figure out the difference. I've seen my SP2022 compared to similar guns which are rated for tactical, defense, and competition use. For example one showed it was not checked off for defense or competition but it was for tactical. I am using it for defense, carry sometimes, and IDPA matches. I'm not sure about tactical or what that even means.

"Rated" by whom? If you can put rounds big enough rounds on target with it consistently, and it is reliable, then you are good to go no matter what you call it or how you "dress/kit up" for the occasion.

I know the information and ratings are no where near correct but here is the link I should have mentioned:

I think there "data" is off. The Swiss Military Police, French National Police, Customs, and Gendarmerie use it. There was also a contract with the US Army. It's a very respected service weapon.

I'm not sure what that website means by defense and tactical. It gives no explanation that I can see so I would take it with a grain of salt. The SP2022 is used by military & police forces, so I would think it fits the requirements for both tactical and defense.

I personally may choose something different as a go to war gun, but for carrying and putting on the night stand? I think it's perfect.

Here's a decent review as well.
