7rd mag in 8rd gun??

I have SIG 1911/45 its 8rd mags.
I was told you can use 7rd mags?
It this possible?

sure, before 8 rd 220 mags, 7 rd was the norm.

The next question...

Are they going to count one in the chamber as being one in the mag, hmmm? So many delemas when they pass a law like this, I'm so glad we have the courts to finish the legislative process. Certainly it would be unfair to expect legislators to take the time to think through all of this and produce a well thought out coherent and clear policy/law.

Nope, they can't count the chamber as part of the magazine limit. One in the pipe and 7 in the mag .
