I would love to CC, but the sheriff in my county will NOT issue permits. I work in a rural area between Meth City and Meth Campground, so there are some pretty shady characters. If I did CC, it would probably be my Px4 subcompact. Since I do not, I take my SP2022 to the site everyday (private property), but have to keep it locked up until I am on site.

"Its always better to be judged by twelve than carried by six!"

I carry a Sig P226 Extreme in 9mm, use it IWB in a Galco holster. I use the Federal Hydrashoks in a 18 round Mecgar magazine. Before that I used a Glock 23 Gen 4 but it was not very reliable, I was always impressed if it shot a complete magazine without jamming. So far I have not had any problems with the Sig P226. My 1911 wasn't good for CCW because I kept bumping into things without realizing it and it would press on the beavertail and the grip safety would click so it was too noisy. Don't get me wrong, my 1911 is my bedside gun.

After the Joplin tornado in May 2011, there wasn't hardly any looting because the potential looters knew that many citizens were armed and that the local authorities weren't going to come down on somebody trying to protect what little property they had left. As a matter of fact, the looters that were caught were put in the county/city jail and the bail bondsmen refused to post bail for them. Plus once all the looters were locked up and stayed locked up, amazing the small looting problem became negligible.

Keep in mind, 8000 homes, 600 businesses, 13,000 vehicles, 40 apartment complexes (some very large), and six schools including the High School were destroyed. Stuff was strewn everywhere over many square miles. Thieves did hit Academy Sports right afterwards, while people were still lying injured in the remains, and relieved the store of all the firearms that they could get their hands on. So I hear anyway. At least one Joplin police officer was arrested for looting. He loaded some bottles of booze into his patrol car apparently. Also a neighboring town's fire chief and two firemen were busted for looting generators, chain saws, and other such equipment from people's homes they were supposed to be guarding.

Ronin, that is something my dad has always drilled into me. That and make sure you have an extra magazine with you!

Cybercowboy, it doesn't surprise me the lack of humanity some people are able to display. We have done a lot for and with the local community, but there are always people out there that will shock you.

Discretion is after all the better part of valor and humility has its own rewards as well.

Point well taken, I do understand, but like I said, just started to carry and wanted to see comfort first and print.
Second, even though they all are different manuals, they all are DA/SA.
I carry loaded and decocked, so is not that important to me now, since all 3 are pull trigger and bang.

ronin2,
I understand your concern living in Commiefornia.
I don't have that concern living in Texas, because our governor likes guns, hunts and supports the 2ND Amendment.
Also, I didn't put in my signature my entire collection either, just the most significant ones I own.
Maybe, I can help anyone thinking of getting any of those by answering question or providing valuable information about them.
Lastly, I did not join the Forum to impress anyone, but your last comment is a little judmental and I don't care for it.
Forgive me in advance, if I read you wrong, but if wanted to impress anyone, then I would have posted my Educational Resume, W2 Form, Financial Statement, house, cars and motorcycles pictures, not to mention the hot looking wife (unenhanced), etc.
You won't hear from me past this post, as I don't engage in cybernetic pissing matches or banter and it deviates from the OP topic.
