New Sig Magazines- how to clean them??

Hello all, I recently made the jump from Glock to Sig with the purchase of the M11-A1. I noticed the magazines are covered in some sort of oil/grease inside and out. How in the hell do I get it off? I've tried ballistol, hoppe's, even 409. Forgive me if this is a noob question but I'm desperate haha. Thanks in advance and hopefully once I figure out this whole forum thing, I'll be able to post pictures of my amazing new gun.

I used a silicone cloth, seemed to do the trick - mine weren't slathered though.

I washed mine in dawn dish soap inside and out, then hoppe's, then dawn dish soap again. Make sure you run a cloth down the inside because mine were packed inside as well. Mine were really slathered. Took awhile but came out clean.

I don't know why, but they do. M11-A1 mags are phosphate coated also so maybe it has something to do with that.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try the dawn-hoppe's-dawn method this weekend. Keep the advice coming in case this doesn't work!

To keep them from corroding if they spend much time in the inventory, I would imagine, though that doesn't seem to be likely given recent events.

I wiped the excess off with paper shop towels then finished them off with some alcohol wipes (lens cleaners).
