Should I buy??

A buddy of mine is selling his SP2340. it's got around 1000 rounds through it. It comes with 2 mags(I think that's standard?) IWB holster, shoulder holster and a serpa holster. plus 1000 rounds of federal hydrashock.

How much would you pay? He's asking $1000

He uped his offer.

No, maybe $400 to $450 depending how go of a friend, and with everything you listed. Even then I don't think I'd do it. You can get new SP2022's in the $450 to $550 range. The SP2340 was replaced by the SP2022.

Thanks SigDak you make a good point, but is the ammo worth almost $400 alone?

Lol! No kids just wants to buy a H&K USP 9MM.

In all seriousness, it's not a great deal nor a bad one to me. The price/value of the ammo, who can predict. I think it comes down to, do YOU really like the gun and have YOU shot it (at least a box), And do YOU have a purpose for that model. If not pass, it's no "Better Grab It Quick Before Someone Else Does!" If you really like it, the starting point is what is the price of the gun no holster, ammo or anything. Then see if you like the deal, if you do add what you want or take just the gun. If he's a good buddy he may do it, if not there are more fish in the sea.

+1
The extra ammo helps, When you first posted the thread you said 500 rounds. I agree with Southern Yankee. If it fits your needs then I'd say go for it. One warning the rail system on it isn't the Picatinny rail system as the SP2022 and other firearms use. If you want to get a light for it you'll have to do a little shopping around. I had a Sig Pro 2340 it was ok, but I have to admit I love my P229R.

Since he's a buddy maybe he'd let you put a few rounds down range to see how you like it. I had a 2340 and for all intensive purposes I couldn't hit **** with it past 10 yards. The price is a little steep as its used and like a previous poster indicated has the propritory rail youll have a hell of a time finding a light. Also you want to make sure that he has the correct grip size on the gun for your hand. If not those may take a while to find as well. If all is well I'd try to get him down to $800.

I think it's a little high for a used gun. I paid $419 for my Sig Pro 2022 NIB.
The holsters are probably worth a couple hundred new but what the heck does one do with 1000 rounds of hydra shok? This is not range ammo but personal defense ammo. It does sell for almost a buck a round. If he has what you advertise and the weapon is in real good condition, maybe $750-$800. You may find a bunch of friends who would trade round for round some range ammo for the hydra shok. It would be a heck of a waste of money to poke holes in paper with defense load.
