Care/cleaning your P220

Hi guys, I'm just wandering if using a wire/copper brush is really all that good for a pistol? I have Mpro 7 copper remover, cleaner and gun oil. The 4506 and 1006 I cleaned with it responded really well. I've heard not to use a brush and instead just use cloth. Please excuse my ignorance and any help is really appreciated fellas.

toothbrush, q-tips, small brushes, rags + whatever you think might need to get clean & lubed.

i use m-pro-7, tw-25b & militec-1.

I've petty well gone to using a bore snake every 50rds. If you keep your gun fairly clean a cleaning brush will be rarely needed unless you shoot a lot of unjacketed or dirty ammo. My P220 is "Older" like me, I just wish I looked as good as it does (no other comparisons are needed). BTW, probably doesn't need to be said but, cleaning is always battery to bore.

I would add a bit of Hoppes # 9 also. Over the years kinda got addicted to it.

Often I can clean my bore with Hoppe's #9 until the patch stays white, but if I run a copper brush through the bore again, patches again become black afterwards. So copper brushes must add something over just using solvent alone.

I know exactly what you mean. I tried that with the 1006
At first I used just a cloth then ran a brush thru just one time then looked
in the barrel and could tell it broke a lot if stuff up in there.
So, I really like the toothbrush idea.
