P220 German Frame

I spoke to the owner of a gun shop near my deer camp.

He said he has a brand new, in the box, Sig P220, railed, with Nite Sights. Been in his inventory forever. FRAME is stamped made in Germany. Price is $890.

I had a 2005, P220, no rails, contrast sights, SLIDE stamped, Made in Germany.
It was a CPO, paid $625 in 2014. Traded it on my 229 SAS Gen 2. in November, 2015. Now, I kinda miss the 220.

Is this gun as good as my older 220? Should I pass and get a new P220 for about $100 more?

Any help is appreciated................

If you want a P220, I'd get the one stamped "Made in Germany." A new one will be US made. The P220 at the gun shop will be the exact quality of the one you traded, as your 2005 P220 also had a frame made in Germany.

It is my humble opinion that the new P220s are every bit as good, if not better, than any P220 produced in Germany. I say that because of the milled, solid stainless steel slide that can take a beating and is a well-proven design.

I would not hesitate to get a new P220 if you wanted one.

My P220 has the German frame/Exeter slide and has been flawless. Even with the internal extractor

Thanks for all your advice, guys!

I will wait for another CPO, made in Germany, no rails! I paid $625 and the gun was perfect. Got $550 trade value over 1 year later, when purchasing a new P229, SAS. Same gun shop.

CPO P220 had new Nitron coating, new springs, etc, new grips, and 2 new mags, SIG warranty.

Maybe a Legion P220, in the winter!

I'd much prefer the 'half breed' over the new USA made P220 ...would rather have an 'all German' triple s/n P220 over the 'half breed'. A W.German P220 would even be better.
