The P229 Combat is a hard-coat anodized finish. Very sharp.

And now I want a Combat again after finally convincing myself I don't need one.

Latest Addition To My Evening Wear Collection.

Looking forward to seeing those grips on the Combat.
So now I'm super confused....

I emailed Blackpoint Tactical and their response was
"The combat model is what we do not have. And in this case the picatinny rail is the issue even with a light.
I'm sorry we can't help with this combo for you."

I called Sig and their response was
"with the light attached, any holster made specifically for p229 with the light will work"

Sig's response made more sense, seeing as the only difference with the combat rail and the proprietary rail is the curved bottom (right?). I don't think the rail hangs any lower or is any wider? Crossbreed told me my old holster will work w/o light, just might be a bit snug, which is actually kinda a problem seeing as this is my EDC and if it effects the smoothness of the draw, it's counter-productive.

I've checked out Bravo Concealment per GBIA and I like what they have, and seeing as he has a bunch of Combats, I trust they will work just fine. However, I need a IWB holster, preferably one that will allow me to carry with the light. Can anyone confirm BPT or Sigs response? Or maybe recommend a IWB holster that will work for me w/ the light?

Sig is correct. As long as the light is mounted, it doesn't matter which rail it has. A holster will never even be able to contact the rail with the light mounted - at least for a P229 or P226 (or P220 for that matter), and the holster won't hold the gun without the light.

The only time the type of rail matters is if you are buying a holster that is made for a SIG with a rail but no provision for mounted accessories like a light. Most holsters (Kydex in particular) are form-fit to the SIG proprietary curved-bottom rail and won't fit the 1913 rail.

Leather holsters made for a railed SIG (again with no light) usually will stretch to the 1913 rail after time.

As far as an IWB for the gun with a light, I do not know of one at this time.

BTW, the gun (below) in the thread that you linked to is built on the same frame used on the P226 Combat and P226 MK25. It has the 1913 rail. No way anybody's holster will touch the rail as long as the light is mounted.

the combat is one of the best Sig models IMO, the hard coat annodizing being the primary reason it just looks and wears great.

Oh and my mail lady just dropped these off... Hogue posted 4 on their site so I just had to pick some up! G10 checkered tan, should match perfectly!
