Grip circumference is the same - where are you getting this information?

Sorry, I meant compared to the full sized grips like the 229 and 226. I just want to know if the smaller circumference, and therefore shorter trigger reach makes things better or easier.

The Sig web site says the p229 has an overall width of 1.5 inches, whereby the p239 is listed as 1.2 inches. I know I'm not great at math, but doesn't that mean the 239 has a smaller grip circumference? Here's a pictorial comparison. [attachment=214:grips.jpg]

I thought you meant there was a size difference between DA/SA and DAK. Carry on.

i think i see what you are getting at here...rather or not a smaller grip circumference makes it easier to shoot really depends on the size of your hands. example; i have large hands a long fingers. i find the glock 21 (not sf) easy to grip and shoot. that pistol has a large grip circumference. on the other hand, my keltec p3at i find practically impossible to shoot well because it is so small to wrap my fingers around. someone with smaller hands would more than likely not share my opinion. honestly the best way to find out is go shoot with one. barring that at least go put hands on and get a feel for the pistol. hopefully im understanding what you are looking for here.

have you handled a 226 or 229 to say rather or not you can easily grip it and if you can pull the trigger readily?

FYI SIG also offers a " Short Trigger Installation - Install and function test of 1/8‚ÄĚ thinner profile trigger (material removed from the trigger/finger contact area)

for easier reach and finger pad positioning. $74.95, includes round-trip VIP shipping in the price (excludes P230/232, P245, P225, early P226/P220 and SAO models)"

which will effectively reduce the grip circumference for you. SIG Custom Shop Services
