Looking to get a P226 chambered in 40 caliber with a rail excellent condition comes with a Safariland level 3 duty holster and 4 mags. what's everybody's view on the 226 .40 . appreciate all input thank you. Also what would be a decent price to pay for it. Going to look at it tomorrow, its a private party sale

Looks good cosmetically. Make sure you remove the slide and look at the frame rails.

Been thinking about one myself. You should also be able to rock a Bar-Sto 9mm conversion barrel and a Sig 357 sig barrel for $150 used!

I bought a P229 in 40SW and did the above to get a multi-caliber platform.

Love the full-sized Sigs! Do it.

Bar-Sto barrel would cost you @$200. Everyone thinks they are gold and no one ever sells one.
The Rail makes getting holsters a little more difficult, but for a House gun, Nothing frees up one hand like having a light hung on the weapon. My House/Range gun is a 229 (Smaller barrel and shorter grip) in .357, with a Rail. It was a retired State Police officers Safe queen. I put a smooth short reach trigger on it, went through 3 grips to get the ones I wanted, and got a .40 barrel for it. It is my favorite "Shooter" pistol.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with the P 22X or P 23X series weapons. We may have caliber wars here (Puny, vs adaquate vs Superior in a pistol) but there is almost no disagreement that the SIG 22X and 23X are not the top level of value.

I have the P226 in 40 S&W and love it. It was my favorite 40 caliber until I got the P229 Legion in 40 S&W!

I'm sure you will love your new Sig as well.
