I got my new 226 elite the other day. I was anxious to do some shooting. We have an outdoor pistol range here and it is currently flooded due to snow melt but I decided I had to shoot so I drove out there anyway and figured I'd just shoot at whatever old targets or jugs or whatever is floating in the water. It's really pathetic. They need to build that up and make it drain properly so it's useable this time of year. Anyway, love the Sig, just love it. It's big and beefy feeling in my hands and fits so much better than the 1911s I own. I have no idea of accuracy as I was shooting at a bunch of garbage basically but I'll check that out as time goes on. Fun fun pistol. I love the short reach trigger. Really fun to snap off several rounds quickly. Interesting thing, the pistol never failed to lock back when the mag was empty, but when I manually rack the slide back with an empty mag in it will only lock back about half the time. I think something is wrong with the spring but if it works while shooting, that is really the important thing. I have a new spring coming from Sig so we'll see. Gotta say though, I'm pretty happy I bought this thing. I might have to pick up a P220 so I have one in a .45 cal.

bbach; Yes the 226 IS a fun shooter!

Is your's 9 or 40? My .40 P226 the slide will not lock open with a couple of Meg Ger magazines I have that have been left loaded. I have to "stretch" the mag spring and then

they work.

Have fun and sorry to hear about your range conditions.... By the way what is snow melt???

(yes, I know but I do live in a desert).

Shoot straight and be safe.

Lateck,

What is snow melt. Ha ha. rub it in.

We actually are having a blizzard right now and I don't mean the dairy queen one. It's snowing and blowing like crazy outside this afternoon. OMG I'm sick of winter. Next week is supposed to begin warming up though. It's gonna be nice.

I love my P226... I've had it since the late 80's... I followed up with a P220. It's a good shooter also. I haven't been disappointed with any of my centerfire Sig's.
