P225 A1 sight question

Good morning, relatively new guy here. I recently bought into the Sig platform and truly love it. I own 2 229 Legions (9mm and 357 Sig), a 226 Legion 9mm SAO, and a 225 A1. I have on order a set of #6/#6 Xray sights that I plan on putting on the 225 as I want to make it as close to the Legion as possible. Brownell's had the Xray sights in stock with the round notch rear sight as opposed to the square rear sight (which is the sight on the Legion). I am wondering if anyone might know if the rear #6 on the 225 (which is a square notch) is the same height and specs as the #6 that is coming with the new sights.

If so, I would just have to swap out the front sight. I know I can measure both sights when I receive them but curiosity has me wondering now.

Legion207 welcome to the Forum. In most cases, same manufacture, should be same height, as front sights would be identical, and the only difference in the rears would be the bottom of the notch. Normally the height from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the sight would remain the same. Swapping between different manufactures could result in different heights of both front and rears. That's why most aftermarket sell in sets, dependent on caliber.

You have a P229/9mm Legion, a P229/357 Legion, a P226/9mm SAO Legion and a P229A1 on the way. You surly have "bought into the SIG platform".

Can't help with your sight question, but I can say welcome to the forum from SEMI.

Now lets talk about the P220. It seems like you are avoiding it.

Ok thank you for the help and thanks for the welcome. I have found lots of valuable info here. It seems like its a great forum and good group of people.

I will just install the pair as a set and call it a day. I know the rear notch of square vs round will have minimal effects.

Thank you for the welcome. The P220 Legion is no doubt on the short list and eagerly waiting for them to release it.
