On second thought, I just cruised thru 7 pages of MPX auctions and there are only 2, 8" Gen 2 MPX's for sale. Definitely a seller's market.

If you can find an MPX-K, you could buy an 8 inch barrel with a new handguard for less than the price on GB. Then you would have both a 4.5 in barrel and an 8 inch barrel for your MPX.

The owners of the 8 inch barrels seem to report fewer problems running suppressed than the 4.5 inch barrel owners running suppressed.

Modern Warriors offers the 8" with the following:

Timney Trigger
Radian Raptor CH
SB Tactical collapsing brace
Stock BUIS
M Lok handguard

All for $2099. The catch is, you've got to watch your email and be ready to buy when they get them in.

They are out of stock now, but you can sign up for notifications. They had 8 available when I first looked about 4 months ago. I let them go by as I had picked up a K 2 months earlier. I did sign up for notification after they sold out, and they have gotten stock in 3 times since, although only 2 or 3 each time, with the last time being about a month ago.

I keep signed up, but have been spending my fun money on other things. Maybe if they hit me at the right time in a couple of months, I'll bite.

Just my 2c worth...

The 8" is definitely that hard to get.

When I bought mine, I found it was the last one my LGS had and the last one they could get.

Then another friend I shoot with shot mine and wanted one. Mrs. Flash found him one on the net for a reasonable price, but it took a week or so.

Then yet another friend I shoot with shot mine and wanted one. This time 3 people searched the net for a few weeks until they found one for a reasonable price. This was all around a year ago and it's worse now.

I got about 2K for mine. I realize not putting 8" it in the title didn't help. But, not bad since I had only paid around 1100 at a show with factory case and other goodies.

The 8s are consistently in the 2k range. Extra mags, accessories have driven some close to 3k. This auction is an anomaly...a good one for the seller.

I've seen a MCX upper, complete but still just the upper, go for over 3k.

I think the overall ill feeling of the riots, pandemic, unemployment crisis helps push these up as well.

I bought mine directly from the Sig Pro Shop. It was a hassle free transaction. I also got my military discount on top to FTC free two day fedex shipping plus not sales tax.

I’ll definitely buy a new barrel as a replacement. I’m almost at 15k in rounds through the pipe.

This a bad time to buy a gun. It seems that all of the good well known models are getting ridiculous prices. Recently on GB there was a NIB Benelli M4 that sold for $5000. It's msrp is less than $2000. Only the smart, patient and lucky buyers are getting a good deal. I'm convinced that all of these high prices are driven by people with plenty of money who suddenly realize they are unprepared.

I don't have plenty of money and I am prepared.
