Are the MCX 6.75” barrels discontinued?

Hey folks! I am brand new on this forum but have owned SIG rifles for forever. In fact, the MCX was the first semi-auto rifle I ever bought myself. Since then I have owned two more and love them. I want to convert my 16” .300 blk to another 6.75”. (Of course, I will take all legal routes via Form 1, engraving, etc). I bought one of these barrels from the Pro Shop in the early year, but have been unable to find any more. I read that they may even be Discontinued!!! Is this true? I believe that the ability to switch between the 6.75” .300 blk and 11.5” 5.56 is one of the best parts of the MCX platform and would be extremely sad to see it be discontinued.

Thanks so much for any help, and thanks for letting me ask a question as my first intro to the forum. Hope you all are having a splendid Sunday night.

Everything is scarce right now due to world events. Best place to look is on the classifieds. I also feel sig discontinues SKUs yearly and replaces them with a slightly newer version. Not sure if that’s the case or not.

MCX is the platform Sig is pushing on the US military so I doubt the mcx platform is going anywhere, just evolving little by little.

P.S I think Merchant Firearms in Phoenix AZ, who is a Sig elite dealer, may have one in stock last time I was there. Might worth giving them a call as they don’t have a web store.

Gave them a call and nothing - but thank you so much for the tip! I’ve called most elite dealers and all seem to be OOS. Should have gotten a second from the Pro Shop while I still could, their pricing was so much cheaper than backordering from Sig.

FWIW, the 6.75" barrel is still listed in the SIG 2020 catalog. I had great luck scoring both 6.75" and 9" CALX kits for my Virtus via the SIG Pro Shop. They were able to secure for me what neither the SIG website nor customer service could. Might be worth giving them a call and seeing if they can help you out (yes, they ship).

The current panic is really bad!! For perspective, I purchased my MCX 6.75" 300Blk for $299 from CDNN in Nov-'18. This difficult time will pass, perhaps in my lifetime...

Cheers

Does the Pro Shop's inventory differ from the rest of the Sig website? The calx kits seem to be perpetually out of stock online...

Yes, Sig Pro Shop inventory differs from Sig website. Pro Shop gets all sorts of random sh*t. They never know what they’re getting in next week.

They don't ship the calx kits? In-person only?

Just an update, I got a call from Proven Arms & Outfitters that my 6.75" was in their possession and about to ship out today. I backordered it awhile ago through them. I also have another order placed through Dana Safety Supply and will probably sell that one when it ships.
