Do you think this could be an ad injection via DNS? Comcast and CenturyLink are known to do that sort of thing. You could try changing your DNS to Google or OpenDNS. You could also try using a vpn.

You’re never going to be able to get on top of the URLs that this thing forwards too. They need to find the root cause that is forwarding to the link.

My honest opinion, is it forward to one site that forwards to another so you never get the real URL. I see evidence of this as I can’t back arrow back to Sig Talk. This thing is exploiting a problem in Safari

All that said...

Safari is often the magnet for these malicious ads.

I only use safari on my iPad. I have not gotten one of the ads since adding the adblocker plus that was suggested.

I would recommend if you can use Chrome instead of Safari on your iPad to do so and also install an Ad Blocker extension like uorigin or adblock that way you'll never see pop-ups or ads unless you want to and you can tell the extension whether to run on a site or not, default is always run.

Admins, just had a new pop up. Similar to the one reported before.

Folks, while I appreciate the help about changing to a different browser and using blockers.. I’m fairly certain the admin team would prefer people didn’t have to resort to these measures. Having an all browser friendly website would be my goal as an admin. But I am only speaking from my perspective as a webmaster on a different website.

No issues on Linux or Android using Chrome or Firefox loaded with sensible measures [blockers, etc.] to protect against interweb maliciousness.

It just makes sense to me to take action to protect myself as much as possible when surfing the web these days because a safe site today is no guarantee of a safe site tomorrow.

Browsing the web with an unprotected browser is like running errands around town in a car and leaving it unlocked with the keys in it then expecting the establishment to keep it all safe.
