The term "bump" is not used exclusively in the classified forum. It's commonly used to add a "new" post to an existing thread. Doing so will make the thread appear to any user who uses the "New Posts" menu function to see any new posts made since last logging into the site.

Any words can used, generally the word "bump" is used and means to "bump it to the top". It is used most generally in the classified forum when there has been no activity on the ad and can only be used once every 48 hours.
