Why do I keep getting likes to a thread I started that I thought was deleted?

I put up a video thread and within a few hours I could not access it anymore. I thought is was deleted. I get "details not available" when I click on the like notification. It does not show up in my dashboard and I cannot find it in search.

Thanks.

The video you posted did not belong in the Madhouse, but rather, the News Politics and Religion forum so it was moved there, with a one day redirect left in the madhouse.

That forum is a join only forum, and evidently you have not joined the group to be able to access the forum.

Here's the thread in the New Users Forum that describes that forum and how to join it: https://sigtalk.com/new-users/299562...ion-forum.html

Thank you.

Can you please educate me on why it's not "Generalized discussion of any topic with professional/adult driven discussions"?

And what that threshold is please so I do not make more work for anyone in the future.

It's very simple actually. The video you posted was news and involved a firearm.

The original forum you posted it in has the description: "Talk about anything and everything not related to guns, except news, politics or religion.", the best forum to select for it then, is the one dedicated to news in this case.

From that description: "This forum is for the specific discussions pertaining to current news, politics and religious topics. This is the ONLY forum on the site where any member will be allowed to post or create threads about news, politics or religion."

Since the Madhouse is not intended for firearm related material or news events, that forum is not the appropriate venue. Since the video was news, the thread would not be appropriate in the Guns forum, therefore , the NPR is the appropriate forum for it.

All forums on the site should be considered by the users "professional/adult driven discussions", with the Madhouse being the exception where the topics and conversation have a standard that is more of a "let it hang out some atmosphere" "without violating the NSFP rule of the forums.

My suggestion to all users is to read the descriptions under the forum (my experience here tells me that many do not bother to read the finer print ) and make your best decision on where it should go. If it doesn't belong there one of the staff will move it and leave an expiring redirect for the thread.

Of course, I think in your case, having not already been aware of the NPR forum, you'd have properly chosen it if you were aware of the forum. That's one of the reasons why we ask members of the forum to read the stickies in the New User forum - they explain all about the various rules and forums for the site

I hope that answers your question.
