Posting photos (yes, I read the help files)

I read the threads in the 'Site Issues and Support' forum. I can post photos on any other forum I am a member. I cain't post photos to SIGTalk. I am using imgbb as the host site, and no matter how I try to put a photo on here, it shows like this -

[IMG][img]https://i.*******/JHKn1v6/taurusm327.jpg[/img][/IMG]

This is just pasting the code -
[img]https://i.*******/JHKn1v6/taurusm327.jpg[/img]

That is using the photo icon, then pasting in the link from imgbb. Any combination I use to get a photo here results in same. What is different between this forum and Chinariders.net, rimfirecental, ingunowners, s-wforum? I can post photos at those sites.

Here is the code from one of my posts.

[IMG]http://www.********.com/photos/garden/Monarch_3_resized.JPG[/IMG]

I have found that some of my photos have jpg in lower case and some have it in upper case. If I don't get that entered correctly the photo does not post.

imgur has always worked for me but I have to close out that website after loading the picture to it and then come back and copy the link to the forum. I usually upload from my MacBook's downloaded folder

Using imgur is easy. You don't need to use the photo icon with imgur. Just click on your photo in imgur, then click the link on the lower right that says bbcode. Now paste that into sigtalk and it shows up.

So you should have [img] the photo url [/img]. When you click the photo icon, it only puts the [img] [/img] around the url you paste into the link.

See how your post is [img] twice? Are you using the website or trying from your phone? I can't get it to work from my phone.

It appears that you are copying the BBcode from imgur AND using the Image icon in the advanced editor. Don't do that.

Follow bblr's instructions and it will work just fine

I am using my desktop pc, win 10. It does not matter how I get the address for the image, or if I direct paste or use the photo icon, none of the photos show up, just a messed up address with splats in it. On imgbb, when I click on a photo I have uploaded, a pop up box gives the following choices

LINKS
Viewer link
Direct link

HTML codes
HTML image
HTML full linked
HTML medium linked
HTML thumbnail linked

BBCodes
BBCode full
BBCode full linked
BBCode medium linked
BBCode thumbnail linked

It does not matter what link I select, the photo never appears on SIGtalk like it does on other forums. The link address appears like it does in tukatz post, and the examples in my first two posts...where the ***** is displayed should be *******. As I said, I can post photos to other forums, just not here, I only get them to display as an attachment.

I give up. Thanks for the help.

I created an account on imgbb to replicate the issue. I uploaded a pic that I previously posted here using IMGUR.

The substitution of i.*ibb*.co is hosed by this site because of the extension .co instead of .com

(I have inserted the * in the site url so that you can see the entire line of BBcode.)

[img]https://i.*ibb*.co/M2mfGYz/jZg4bu2.jpg[/img]

So...you have a couple of alternatives in my view:

1. Use another image host - suggestions are - imgur.com or tinypic.com (both free of cost)

2. Use the upload an image process built into the site

Thank you, sir, for service above and beyond. And finding out it is not me.

I used postimage.org. I tried imgur.com, but it would not let me use my username, and then I tried tinypic.com and landed on a page that said they were shutting down, and to sign up with photobucket. This site is working, so it is all good.

Thank you again, incar, for the help and guidance.

You're welcome! It can certainly be frustrating when you know you are doing it the correct way and it still won't work.
